Norwegian telecommunications group Telenor ASA is reportedly to shed some 250 jobs in Norway as part of measures to cut costs by NOK1.5bn before the end of 2007.

According to Telenor communications director Pal Kvalheim, interviewed by the online edition of the Norwegian newspaper VG, Telenor will cut the 250 jobs during the autumn.
Kvalheim stressed, however, that the company would try to effect the job cuts through voluntary arrangements.
